Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

DropYourStory is operated by Entyme Marketing Elite, LLC ("we," "our," "us," or the "Company"), a limited liability company that operates the DropYourStory mobile application (the "App"), a private audio, video, and text journaling service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

We organize the information we collect into the following categories:

Identity & Contact Data: your first name, email address, and avatar selection.

Content Data: audio recordings, video recordings, written text, the mood and tags you select, and entry titles — the actual substance of what you record. This is stored in a private storage location tied to your account.

Usage Data: entry counts, streak history, and app activity timestamps.

Payment Data: subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not collect or store your payment card details.

3. How We Use Information

• To store and let you retrieve your own journal entries

• To generate AI-powered pattern insights (see Section 4)

• To maintain your account, streaks, and achievement history

• To communicate with you about your account or the App

4. How AI Processing Works

When you request AI-generated growth insights, we send only aggregated, non-identifying statistics to our AI provider, Anthropic — for example, counts of which mood you selected on which days, or what percentage of entries were tagged with a given topic. We do not send your raw audio, video, written entries, or any other content of what you actually recorded to any AI system. Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train Anthropic's models.

You are always in control of this setting. AI insight generation is off by default until you turn it on, and you can disable it again at any time in Settings — doing so stops all future processing immediately.

5. Who Can See Your Entries

Your journal entries — the actual audio, video, text, and any notes — are visible only to you. This is enforced by our database's row-level access-control rules, not merely an internal policy. We do not read, review, or share the content of your entries with anyone, including our own staff, absent a valid legal process we are required to comply with.

6. Institutional Partnerships

If you create an account using an email address issued by a partner institution (for example, a university with an active license agreement with us), your account may be automatically recognized as affiliated with that institution, giving you full access to the App as part of their license.

The partner institution can see only an aggregate seat count — how many of their licensed spots are currently in use. They cannot see your identity, your activity, or the content of anything you record. This is the same content-level privacy protection every user has, described in Section 5.

Where a partner institution has additional legal obligations regarding student data — for example, under FERPA or a state student-data-privacy law — those obligations are addressed in a separate agreement between us and the institution, not in this Policy.

7. Data Sharing and Subprocessors

We do not sell your personal information or journal content, and we do not use it for advertising. We share information only with the service providers ("subprocessors") necessary to operate the App:

• Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider

• Anthropic — our AI provider, limited to the aggregated statistics described in Section 4

• Apple — processes subscription payments and provides certain account services

8. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal data (for example, under GDPR), we rely on: performance of our contract with you (providing the App's core features), your consent (for optional features like AI insight generation, which you control in Settings), and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the App, balanced against your privacy rights.

9. Sensitive Content You Choose to Share

Because DropYourStory is a personal journal, you may choose to record entries that touch on health, mental health, or other sensitive topics. We do not analyze, scan, or process the substance of that content — see Section 4.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete individual journal entries at any time; deletion removes both the entry and its associated recording from our storage immediately. You can also permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from Settings. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible.

11. Age Requirement

DropYourStory is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and accounts are not available to users under 18. See our Terms of Service for how we handle age misrepresentation.

12. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.

13. Your Rights

You can access, export, and delete your data at any time through Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR; contact us to make a request.

For formal legal requests — including requests under CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, or similar laws — you may contact our Global Privacy Reps at Support@GlobalPrivacyReps.com, who handles these requests directly.

14. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and access-control rules that restrict your data to your account alone. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

15. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and will provide notice of material changes.
